Bio
I am an arts journalist, editor, and translator.
My translation from the French of Colonel Parkinson in Charge, by François Gravel, is published by House of Anansi Press (2023).
I have written book reviews and feature pieces for Montréal Centre_ville magazine as well as articles for McGill News, the Montreal Gazette, University Affairs, POV (film industry magazine), and Metalsmith (design and metal arts magazine in the US). I do copyediting, proofreading and translation for many arts and civil society organizations, including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, Blue Metropolis International Literary Festival, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, the NFB, and the Douglas Mental Health University Institute. I also work with writers, editing their manuscripts.
Services Offered
I am happy to provide whatever services you require, whether it’s a one-page critique, a line edit, a substantive edit, or an in-person or online consultation. I thoroughly enjoy the give-and-take involved in the process of guiding and coaching other writers.
Special Interests
Creative non-fiction, memoir, arts journalism, professional or corporate writing.
I particularly enjoy working with emerging writers, as well as with texts that have been translated from the French into English and require fine-tuning.
