Bio
I’m a Montreal writer with years of experience as an editor and teacher. My short stories have won the Malahat Review Open Season Award and the Humber Literary Review Emerging Writers Fiction contest. I’ve also earned Honourable Mention in Prairie Fire’s Short Fiction contest, been long-listed for Room Magazine‘s Fiction contest and published stories in many literary magazines. I’m a Banff Centre alumna, recipient of a Canada Council Arts grant and an active member of the Quebec Writers’ Federation, where I’ve taught workshops on short fiction and narrative structure. My first novel will be published in September 2024.
Services Offered
I offer manuscript evaluations, developmental editing and coaching for fiction writers at all levels. All services are personalized according to your needs.
Manuscript evaluations provide feedback on a finished draft, with a written assessment of big-picture issues such as pacing, structure, characters and story arcs. Developmental editing is for writers seeking guidance and support as they revise their work; I provide in-line feedback and detailed editorial notes, but we can also discuss your goals for the project and develop a plan to streamline revisions. For writers feeling stuck, struggling to make progress or looking for longer-term support, I offer coaching/mentoring services. This can include ongoing written feedback and editorial support as well as regular meetings to help you develop and organize your ideas, manage your time, stay accountable, improve your craft and establish a productive writing routine.
Special Interests
All types of fiction, including flash, short stories, novellas and novels. I work with writers at all levels but I’m particularly interested in helping emerging writers and busy writers who struggle to find time for their writing.
