Bio
Dearbhaile loves using her expertise to help writers hone their voice and communicate persuasively – whether in academic research, creative work, or grant applications. She holds a Master of Philosophy in Gender and Women’s Studies and a Ph.D. in English Literature from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, where she also worked as an instructor and writing tutor. She has edited special issues of research journals Alluvium and Irish Studies Review and is a peer reviewer for Irish Studies Review and Textual Practice. Her short fiction has appeared in Canadian and Irish venues, including EVENT magazine, Tolka journal, Banshee journal, and The Irish Times. She has received grants from the Arts Council of Ireland in 2022 and 2023 and has read her work at international literary festivals in Ireland.

Dearbhaile offers full edits and pre-submission editing (proofreading and reference/citation formatting) for dissertations, research articles, and monographs.
She provides developmental editing and beta reading for fiction projects of all lengths, offering writers quick and constructive feedback on their manuscript to improve structure, pacing, dialogue, and characterization.
She works with clients on grant applications in the arts and research sectors, covering all aspects of the pre-award process including project development, proposal writing, and copyediting of application materials.

Dearbhaile specializes in literary fiction (short stories and novels), academic articles and essays, research and book proposals, and grant application materials. She enjoys working on the subjects of contemporary arts and culture, domestic space, family life, feminism, gender, and Irish studies.
She is particularly interested in working with emerging fiction writers and academics writing for a non-academic audience or adapting their research for trade publication.
