Brief Bio

I’m a writer, editor, and presenter/performer who’s lived and worked in Washington DC, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Barcelona. Since settling in Montreal, I’ve pursued my interest in children’s and Young Adult literature while raising a family. I’ve published five books for young readers and lead writing workshops at schools and in communities across Quebec and Canada. My work as a writer for Quebec Reading Connection has given me a broad perspective on current, quality children’s and YA literature and the educational market.

Awards and honours include the QWF Prize for Children’s and YA literature; Red Cedar Book Award Nominee; Silver Birch Nominee; CCBC Best Books for Kids & Teens (Starred Selection); USBBY Outstanding International Books (Grades 3-5); Quill & Quire’s “Best of 2007”(Children’s).

Services Offered

Critique and/or detailed editing of draft manuscripts, with an emphasis on market attraction and publishing goals. Custom-tailored visits and workshops with writing groups, classes, book clubs, teachers’ associations, etc. (Copyediting and proofreading services are not offered.)
