Brief Bio
I am a seasoned scholar, literary critic, editor, translator, and novelist. I taught British literature, postcolonial theory, and cultural studies for twelve years and published numerous scholarly articles and three academic books: Questioning Hybridity, Postcolonialism and Globalization (Palgrave Macmillan, 2011), Joseph Conrad and the Reader (2009, Palgrave Macmillan), and Rethinking Postcolonialism (Palgrave Macmillan, 2008). Besides expertise in academic writing, I am an experienced editor and manuscript evaluator. I edited Joseph Conrad and the Orient (Columbia UP, 2012), and, currently, I am editing Joseph Conrad: Ethics, Empire and Postcolonialism (under contract, 2017). For four years I also worked regularly as a manuscript assessor for Palgrave Macmillan and several academic journals and presses (The Conradian, UK, Conradiana, ARIEL, Canada). Recently, I completed a novel, Babel of Hope which deals with exile, search for roots, and social and political commitment.
