Non-fiction, literary non-fiction, memoir, family history, corporate history, business journalism, freelance journalism, and research.
I am a writer and editor with forty years experience in daily newspapers and freelance work. I have been literary editor, business editor and features editor at the Montreal Gazette. I am the author, co-author or editor of nine books including After Auschwitz: One Man’s Story, an as-told-to biography published by McGill-Queen’s University Press. I have worked as a media consultant in the legal field and have been managing editor of a national magazine.
Writing: family histories and memoirs, business and freelance writing. Editing: manuscript critiques, in-depth structural editing and rewriting, copy-editing, preparation of manuscripts for publication, including writing pitches to publishers, how-to instruction for freelance and literary writers, starting out or mid-career. During my years as an editor, I employed writers from across the country, becoming well versed in how writing, freelancing and publishing works in Canada. Prepared to work online or in person as required.
“I am most impressed with what you have done! The words flow beautifully, the contexts are clear and definite, and most importantly you use only my words, and this is really my voice!” Martha De Francisco (Associate Professor, Sound Recording, McGill University)
